St Kilda Fashion Market

was an excellent success! an afternoon filled with divine finds, live music and a bunch of wonderful people. a giant thanks to my beautiful bestie ray ray for being the perfect partner in crime and to the lovely bessie for putting together a splendid event.

i am very much looking forward to the next market day, and so should all of you!

soon enough the royal vowels will be projected far and wide for all of us dedicated royal spectators to hear!believe it or not, not everyone is keen on the idea of camping out front of westminster abbey for days on end in a home-made-tiara as i! gasp! - this morning as i ordered my coffee, a gentleman took one glance at the cover of the paper which was splashed with images of wills and kate and royally ripped it up! i was not distracted...my eyes will be glued to view the gown that we have all been waiting to see...

My New Friend

I found this jacket in all its faux glory in a market stall at the National Folk Festival over Easter weekend. It was priced almost too good to be true and as soon as i put it over my shoulders I just new it belonged with me! (& ever so thankful that Piers had the cashola on him at the time)

secondly, i couldn't leave this one behind either.
maroon-velvet-boyfriend-type-blazer, 70's style.

st kilda fash market, counting down

i am very much looking forward to this sunday, may 1.
after days and hours of sorting and searching for vintage and pre loved pieces it will soon be time to display them for all to rummage through - at the st kilda fashion market.
i love a market, the endless dives into baskets and racks filled with random textures and colours. what a life i can only presume these pieces have lived, and what wonderful stories im sure they could share..
i hold so much joy in giving them a second wind.

a lucky stylista bidded top dollar on ebay bagging herself a Birkin original.
In fact, it was Jane Birkin herself who placed her personal Hermes Birkin on the global buy and sell website, receiving a crazy as hell $160,000 for it! The pre loved bag was a personalised work of art equipped with numerous stickers - and a whole lot of fashionable memories I bet.

"It is very nice that everyone's got one or wants one" Jane told Vogue. "I keep saying to Hermes to make it out of plastic or even more fun make it out of cardboard. Then it wouldn't be so heavy"

One-hundred percent of the proceeds go to the British Red Cross, who will use it to benefit earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan

ALL THE KOLORS

ksubi girlfriends in the new ksubi kolors

Daniel Askill directed a short film showcasing the range that will debut in May at London department store Selfridges.  "Come the day of the shoot, we flew our girlfriends back to be part of it. Keeping it in the ksubi family just felt right" - designer George Gorrow.

Makes complete sense if your gf's are models cisco, heidi & bambi.
ksubi kolors will be available from general pants, dj's & ksubi stores around mid April.

alexa at coachella

the muchly awaited grand opening of global fashion sensation ZARA in Sydney's flash new Westfield shopping precinct is almost upon us - ONE more sleep peeps! The melbourne store however seems to be on a slow course changing its May plan to mid June (sad face for us melbournites)
On the up side, price points are looking good - jeans $69.95, chinos $79.95 & trench coats $119.
I have a feeling this is going to be a happy winter!

whilst denim seems to be the topic of the minute...

i remember asking sarah-jane clarke (the sass in sass and bide) if she were a pair of jeans, who would she want to wear her...her response was kate moss. perfect answer to my ears.
kate is clearly someone who consistantly influences denim trend, and is my personal denim inspiration.

my neuw denim lust-after.
WHO would i be without my favourite pair of jeans.
i am denim craz-ee. i am also denim precious and along with many, tend to stick to one particular label because they-just-fit well.
however, from recent experience it is well and truly in my best interest to step outside the denim-square.
which brings me to annouce my new season favourites in the NEUW denim range.
it is vintage inspired denim - revised & re-created.

especially now as I am experimenting with colours...
the marilyn pink are my pick!

and the hunt continues

of course, of course, of course these skinny jamie jeans by top shop would sell out if worn by an a lista fashionista as incredibly influential  as alexa chung.
online has crushed me as my size has completely sold out.
hm...i havent given up hope. call outs to all of my london friends, if you happen to cross paths with them!
